The “Scholarly Tet” programme opens the 2023 series of activities promoting education and talent in Thanh Hoa, aiming to further boost the province-wide movement to promote education and talent. It calls on the entire society, especially Thanh Hoa natives working across the country and Vietnamese living abroad, to care for the province’s education and talent cause, to provide scholarships for students with very difficult circumstances who strive in their studies, and to reward outstanding creative workers in Thanh Hoa.

In 2023, alongside scholarships and rewards from the Lam Sơn Education and Talent Fund, the Lê Khả Phiêu Education and Talent Fund, the “Wings of Dreams” scholarship, and other scholarships for top-performing students and poor students who excel in studies, the programme featured the launch of the Nguyễn Chích Scholarship Fund with a founding capital of VND 5 billion, established by Mr Nguyễn Sơn — General Director of ASHICO.

The Nguyễn Chích Scholarship Fund is named after General Nguyễn Chích — a founding meritorious official of the early Lê Dynasty who participated in the Lam Sơn Uprising. He was born in Đông Ninh Commune (Đông Sơn). The birth and operation of the Nguyễn Chích Scholarship Fund calls on businesses and philanthropists to contribute part of their welfare to support poor students striving in their studies and high-achieving students.

As a native of Đông Sơn — Thanh Hoa, with the desire to contribute to his homeland and express gratitude through his burning wish for the prosperity and strength of his homeland and country, Mr Nguyễn Sơn expressed his hope that students will use the scholarships effectively, continue to strive and overcome difficulties, train themselves to become useful citizens, and contribute much to the development and prosperity of their homeland and country.

At the ceremony, in addition to launching the Nguyễn Chích Scholarship Fund, the Thanh Hoa Provincial leaders also awarded 6 officials and teachers recognised by the State Council of Professors as Associate Professors; awarded 2 officials honoured by VCCI Vietnam; 25 officials, workers and labourers awarded the “Creative Labour Certificate” by the Vietnam General Confederation of Labour; provincial and association leaders presented 22 scholarships from the Lê Khả Phiêu Fund; 22 scholarships from the “Wings of Dreams” Fund for poor students who excel; and 25 scholarships from the Lam Sơn Education and Talent Fund.
