In 2020, alongside the programme accompanying the Vietnam Association for Protection of Disabled People and Orphans — presenting bicycles, scholarships, and school supplies to disadvantaged and orphaned students, and gifts to families affected by the late-2020 floods in Quảng Bình — ASHICO and sponsors Lam Sơn — Thanh Hoa Alumni Class of 1988–1991 and PTSC Thanh Hoa co-sponsored the construction of a preschool at Bản U, a highland border hamlet in Lang Chánh District, Thanh Hoa Province.
The project officially broke ground on 5 November 2020. The transport of building materials to Bản U was challenging, combined with weather and the Covid-19 pandemic, which extended the construction time beyond expectations.
From a vacant lot, thanks to the sponsors and the hands of local workers, a clean and spacious school has emerged.
After 5 months of construction, the Bản U preschool was officially handed over to the school for operation on 3 April 2021.
From now on, the young children of Bản U can play and study in clean, spacious classrooms fully equipped for preschool education.
We hope the support from ASHICO and the sponsors will help ease the hardship for the children of Bản U and plant seeds for their future journey of learning and discovery.
